We’re excited to share the trailer we created for Stiletto, a bold new musical that has already been nominated for 11 Fringe Theatre Awards for the 2025/2026 season, including Best New Musical and Best Production.
With music and lyrics by three-time Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Matthew Wilder (Disney’s Mulan) and a book by double Olivier Award nominee Tim Luscombe, Stiletto transports us to the opulent world of 18th-century Venetian opera — a place of beauty, politics, ambition and danger.
The musical follows Marco, a young castrato singer making his way through the glittering yet treacherous world of Venetian opera houses. His life changes when he meets Gioia — confident, brilliant, fiercely talented… and a young Black woman whose musical gifts are denied in a society built on racism and misogyny. Recognising her genius — and sensing that they are both outsiders — Marco falls in love. But when a murder shatters their fragile world, he must confront his past to save her.
Creating this trailer was a chance to capture the sweeping emotion, historical richness and cinematic scale of the musical — as well as its heart: a story of ambition, love, sacrifice and resilience told through soaring music and a rarely explored chapter of musical history.
